The SimPlant Academy is proud to take part in the humanitarian project 'RP4Baghdad' that will help severely injured Iraqi citizens. Several leading Rapid Prototyping companies have joined forces and have started up this project to make medical RP models available to Iraqi surgical teams in major trauma centers. Materialise will provide the medical software (Mimics) necessary to design and produce these models.

The SimPlant Academy will support this project by asking its members to assist and give advice to the Iraqi surgeons. A lot of our members are not only implantologists but they also have experience with cranio- and maxillofacial surgeries and are able to give very valuable information to their Iraqi colleagues in Baghdad. Our members are also skilled in using similar software for medical solutions. For more information on this project, please visit the RP4Baghdad website.

On the SimPlant Academy forum we have created a separate discussion for this project. We are confident that our members can see the value of this project and will like to help!

Latest Development:

The Simplant Academy is proud to announce that Mentor Dr. Philippe Tardieu will participate in the RP4Baghdad project. After being asked to go to Amman to do some complicated dental surgeries and to pass on his expertise to the Iraqi team of doctors in the RP4Baghdad project, he immediately and wholeheartedly accepted the challenge.
